I provide a virtual office with a secure, online platform for video counseling via Simple Practice. I require one face-to-face contact before beginning online counseling. Intake paperwork specific to technology-assisted counseling will be provided and must be completed before virtual counseling begins. Fees are the same for face-to-face and distance counseling. Payment for technology-assisted counseling varies by insurance company. Many insurances expanded their acceptance of video and telephonic counseling services during the pandemic. However, as the risk of coronavirus diminishes, some insurances may stop paying for counseling unless it is done face-to-face.
